Logging in with an AUSkey

You can now use your AUSkey to log into ASIC Connect. You do not have to use an AUSkey to log in, and can use your existing username and password if you prefer.

Before you log in

Your AUSkey is registered to your ABN. To log in to ASIC Connect using your AUSkey, the ABN details recorded on our register for the business name holder or SMSF auditor must match those registered to your AUSkey. If the ABN does not match, or isn't recorded on our registers, you will not be able to use your AUSkey.

If you are unsure whether you need to update your details, the table below shows the most common scenarios for customers planning to use an AUSkey.

 

Can I use my AUSkey?

If you are... And your ABN is... Then...

a business name holder

  • recorded on the ASIC register, and
  • matches the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

Check now

You can log in with your AUSkey immediately.

a business name holder

  • recorded on the ASIC register, but
  • does not match the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

Check now

Your registration will not be linked to your account. You will need to:

  • check you have used the correct AUSkey and try again, or
  • log in to ASIC Connect with a username and password.

a business name holder

  • not recorded on the ASIC register for your business.

Check now

You will need to add your ABN to the register. You can do this in two ways:

  • Already have an ASIC Connect account? Submit the Add ABN transaction online  and update the register now.
  • Complete Add an ABN for a business name holder  transaction in paper.

Once this is complete, your business name will appear when you log in with your AUSkey.

an SMSF auditor (individuals only)

  • held by you as an individual
  • recorded on the ASIC register, and 
  • matches the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

Check now

You can log in with your AUSkey immediately.

an SMSF auditor (individuals only)

  • held by you as an individual
  • recorded on the ASIC register, but
  • does not match the ABN registered to your AUSkey.

Check now

Your registration will not be linked to your account. You will need to:

  • check you have used the correct AUSkey and try again, or 
  • log in to ASIC Connect with a username and password.

an SMSF auditor (individuals only)

  • held by you as an individual, but
  • not recorded on the ASIC register for your business.

Check now

Send a web query to update your ABN details. You must include your ASIC key and SMSF auditor number.

Send a web query to update your details now.

Once this is complete, your SMSF auditor registration will be linked to your ASIC Connect account.

How to log in

You can log in to ASIC Connect with your AUSkey in two simple steps. 

1. From the ASIC Connect home page, select the 'AUSkey' button to log in.

2. Select your AUSkey from the drop-down menu and enter your AUSkey password.

How to log in with a username and password

You can also choose to log in to ASIC Connect with a username and password. You can use both log in methods at the same time.

To log in with a username and password, you will need to select the 'Log in' button on the ASIC Connect homepage. See Signing up with a username and password for more information.
