Once your business name has been registered, you must ensure the details for the business name holder are correct and up-to-date in the business name register.
You can update the business name holder's name, residential address and email address using ASIC Connect.
You should update the register:
- if business name details change, or
- to correct a mistake to existing information in the register.
You must notify us within 28 days of the change if, for example, your residential address or principal place of business has changed.
Update name – business name holder
If you change your name – through marriage or deed poll for example – you must advise us within 28 days using ASIC Connect.
Update address – business name holder
You must notify us of a change of address within 28 days from the date of change through ASIC Connect.
If the business name holder is a company, you must update the details in the ASIC company register.
Update email address – business name holder
You are encouraged to provide an email address for the business name holder.
