What is a Check Name Availability search?

The Check Name Availability search provides guidance on whether your proposed company name is similar or identical to an already registered or reserved company or business name.

Checking the availability of a name will assist you if you're intending to register a new company, or change a company name. It allows you to check that the company name you are proposing to use is not identical to one already registered as you cannot register a company with a name that is identical to one currently registered with ASIC.

What information will I see for free?

You will see organisations on the ASIC register which have identical and similar names to the one you enter.
